live pulls down academic search

:(
http://search.live.com/academic/
used to be the link for m$'s version of google scholar..well..microsoft has pulled down that now..it used to have an UI with the main layout split into two columns, on the left you would get the search results. Selecting a search result would fill the right panel with abstract of that paper and the right panel also had other tabs giving information about papers, most importantly, the bib reference. I found it very useful while citing papers and filling up references, and this saved a lot of clicking and page loading that I would have to go throw to get the same info if i use plain/simplistic google scholar. The MSDN blog has some info abt why it was pulled down..whatever..its sad..

(warning:rant to follow)
what irritates me is the attitude of net users..its like..whatever google does is the best and their can be no product better than what google releases..hell..i dont know why people use gtalk..I find y! messenger to be better than that by leaps and bounds..and people actually migrated from y! messenger to gtalk..from something that had more features to something which offers almost nothing!!and pray someone tell me whats so special about picassa?
btw..when was the last time you tried y! search??the next time you are looking for some obscure topic..esp technical..and your favorite search engine fails you..try y!..it works
